IMMERSION – Do You Want to go Deeper In Your Yoga Practice?

Y.O.G.A.  for the Soul presents:
An Immersion Program designed for committed students who want to deepen and refine their practice as well as aspiring teachers.  The Immersion Program offers a comprehensive yoga curriculum of 100 hours. The Immersion Program also serves as the first part of our Yoga Teacher Training – and Immersion A & Immersion B also function as independent study modules open to all dedicated yoga students.

IMMERSION A:  Refining Your Yoga Practice (100 hours)
Here we cover many fundamental yoga principles and students will enjoy a new level of awareness, inspiration and playfulness on their path of awakening new parts of themselves through yoga.
§  Foundation and Form of Fundamental Yoga Postures
§  Biomechanical Alignment Principles, Spirals & Loops
§  Wellness through Diet
§  Spiritual Studies and your Commitment to God
§  Foundational Yoga Breathing Techniques
§  Restorative Practices & Prop Exploration

IMMERSION B: Moving Deeper Into Your Yoga Practice (100 hours)

While we continue our exploration of the principles of Yoga, new topics are introduced and students move deeper into their body-mind-spiritual experience. Refining the understanding of yoga both on and off the mat, we introduce anatomy of movement, adapting for injury, and refining your teaching skills.

§  Deepening of Meditation and Prayerful Purpose
§  Review and Refinement of Alignment Principles & Technique
§  Adapting for Injury/Limitations
§  Language and Sequencing
§  Yoga Anatomy relating to Fundamental Yoga Postures
§  Linking the Bible to Your Classroom Connection

FACULTY
Christy Burnette (ERYT 500) and Sandi Mayer (ERYT 200) Co-teaching staff to include:  Dianne Chamberlain and Cimarron Anderson  (basic Anatomy and deeper Anatomy studies)

Christy Burnette is the Executive Director/Founder of Conscious Community Yoga, an Arizona Non-Profit focused on presenting classes to Native Americans through rehab programs, Department of Corrections, Native American seniors with disabilities and children’s movement classes. In addition, chair based yoga classes are offered throughout Arizona at Community Centers and Health Care Centers. Christy Burnette wrote and designed a Yoga Alliance approved 200 hour yoga school  as well as a 500 hour yoga schoolwith programming in Washington and Kansas and Arizona.  CCYoga  has a fiscal sponsor of St. Luke’s Health for 501 (c) 3 status.

Sandra Logan-Mayer, E-RYT 200 is the owner and instructs at Y.O.G.A. for the Soul –Yielding On God’s Authority located at 12238 N. 51st Ave., Glendale Arizona.

Class dates/times:
The first 50 hours of Immersion A will be offered on the following weekends:

  • September 30th & October 1st  2016
  • October 21st – October 22nd, 2016
  • November 11th – November 12th, 2016

The second 50 hours of Immersion A will be offered on the following weekends:

  • January 20th & 21st 2017
  • February 17th & 18th 2017
  • March 17th & 18th 2017

Note:

  • Each 50 hour segment of Immersion A  will consist of 40 contact hours and 10 hours of homework additional practice & other support material
  • There will be 13 – 13 ½ contact hours offered per weekend from 9:00am – 4pm

Fee Structure:

  • $500 per 50 hours includes $100 non refundable registration fee required

Immersion B & Teacher Training will be offered on the following weekends in 2017:

  • April 21st & 22nd ( note new date)
  • May no classes
  • June 9th & 10th & 23rd & 24th
  • July no classes
  • August 11th & 12th & 25th & 26th

CCYOGA & Y.O.G.A. for the Soul will graduate our first group of RYT 200 hour Christian Yoga teachers on September 15th & 16th 2017.
